TOWN OF SHARON

ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES

MAY 17, 2007

7:00 P.M.  Called meeting to order.  Present:  Paula B. Keefe, Ellen Abelson and

                  Mark Mazur

1. The Board of Assessors reorganized and Paula B. Keefe was unanimously

elected Chairman of the Board of Assessors.  Anne M. Carney, MAA and

Paul T. Keefe, MAA were reappointed as Deputy Assessors for another year.

2. The Board approved as amended the minutes to our 4/26/07 meeting.

3. The Board read a memo from the Town Administrator concerning the release

of overlay funds.

4. The Board noted that Town Meeting approved a budget of $245,000 for our office

for FY2008.

5. The Board noted that Town Meeting has created a Municipal Finance Department.

6. The Board voted to request authorization for preliminary tax bills for FY2008.

This vote gives the Board the right to send preliminary bills if necessary.          

7. The Board read a letter to the editor that related to taxes in Sharon.

8. The Board took the following  action on a FY2007 exemption application for the

owners of the following parcel:

                        Parcel #40-25              Clause 41A                  denied

9. The Board took the following actions on FY2007 applications for abatement for

the owners of the following parcels:

            Parcel  93-46*                         granted

            Parcel  126-25-5                      granted

            *this was a second action

10. The Board reviewed interrogatories from a pending ATB case.

11. The Board reviewed two clause 18 exemption applications but did not act on

them because they only act on them as a full board.
